What does the role of Student Ambassador involve?

We are looking for current students who are willing to engage with prospective students, answer questions they may have around joining the School of Social & Political Sciences, create content to help inform and inspire, and reassure and guide them on their journey.

This includes:

  • Sharing your experiences of being a student at the School of Social & Political Sciences to help guide others in making their decision
  • Engaging with future new students through activities such as online events including webinars and any questions the students may have
  • Developing content (written, video, photo) for School communication channels such as our website, social media platforms and email communications with prospective students

Knowledge / Qualifications Criteria

  • Current student who is studying on a programme in the School of Social & Political Sciences
  • Enthusiastic about the University of Glasgow as a great place to study and the city of Glasgow as a great place to live

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - comfortable with sharing your experience as well as able to respond positively to questions
  • Professional approach - you will be representing the University and should always be responsible
  • Excellent time-management skills and reliability - the Student Recruitment team need to make sure that they can rely on you to attend events on time, meet deadlines that are given, and engage proactively with tasks

Experience

  • No specific experience is required but an interest in digital content creation would be a bonus!

Pay

  • You can enjoy a generous pay of £12 per hour
