7:30am

Good morning! Join me as I start my morning ahead of a day planned with a coffee date, a couple of classes, and a gym session, all part of my regular routine as a Masters student here at UofG. While my days aren't always as structured as this, having a core activity or two factored into your day makes planning everything else a lot easier.

7:45am

After hopping out of bed, I first have the kettle boiling for a cup of a tea - a day doesn't really start without a good cuppa and a bit to eat. I'm trying (harder than it sounds - for me anyway) to minimise my screen time first thing in the monring, hence reading my book with brekkie instead of scrolling on socials or my emails. I got this book from a charity shop - Byres Road has an amazing selection of charity shops with such a great range of books ranging between £2-4 for fiction and non-fiction paperbacks.

8:30am

Next on the agenda is a quick get ready to get myself out of the flat pronto, packing my bag for the gym and uni.

9:00am

I'm meeting a friend for a coffee / catch-up and study date - a 3-in-1 before my first class of the day begins, including a quick brush up on my readings for my classes later in the day. We're so fortunate here in Glasgow that there are great coffee shops at every corner - one doesn't have to go too far to get a good caffeeine fix or a delish pastry to get those cogs turning!

12:00 noon

After that, I'm heading into uni for my first class of the day, my Political Institutions and Communications class, directly followed by a seminar. I'm fortunate in that we have a somewhat close-knit class - our classes are pretty interactive and engaging, meaning the times flies by, whilst still giving you a sense of accomplishment and productivity!

3:00pm

Typically after my classes are complete, I'll head to the gym to get a session fit in, and today is no different. I go to the uni gym (in the Stevenson Building) which provides the perfect space for my weights training and a core or cardio finisher - a great post-class endorphin boost for the rest of my afternoon.

4:30pm

After a quick gym session, I'm getting my steps in by walking back to the flat.

5:00pm

I don't typically venture into the shops mid-week but I fancied a nosy around Buchanan Street to see if anything caught my eye, and of course lots of things did! The joys of retail therapy in a city with good shopping offerings - we're spoled for choice.

7:30pm

Back to the flat, showered and changed, it's dinner time. Tonight's menu is a veggie and halloumi pasta, ready for consumption in front of my newest Netflix obsession.

9:00pm

Finally, I'm ready to jump back into my books for a little while before bed. Here I am completing some readings in preparation for tomorrow's Media and Conflict Transformation classes, along with preparing my 'to do list' for tomorrow's agenda.

11:00pm

The last thing to tick off my list for today is packing my bag - I'm heading home to Ireland for a long-weekend and I'm keen to get organised for the trip!

11:45pm

That leads us to a quick read in bed to decompress before lights out.

While my day and schedule varies considerably depending on the day of the week, the classes I have and even the point in the semester where I find myself, it's not surprise that as a Masters student at UofG you keep yourself pretty busy between academic work, classes, social activities and other spontaneous uni events that arise on your schedule! The great thing is there is always so much happening at UofG - you'll have no issue filling in your days and feeling productive.
