Dr Dilys Freeman

On Tuesday 24th September a celebration was held in C222 of the BHF GCRC for the retiral of Dr Dilys Freeman.

Dilys joined the University of Glasgow in 1999 and was here until her retirement this year. She studied cholesteryl ester transfer protein and its role in high density lipoprotein metabolism as well as the genetic regulation of plasma high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein levels. Dilys has been involved in the analysis of the West of Scotland Coronary Prevention Study (WOSCOPS), in particular the influence of inflammation, statins and genetics on the aetiology of type 2 diabetes. Dilys recent research was in the field of metabolism in diabetes and also in pregnancy.

Dilys would not like any presents and there is a just giving page open for Simon Community. We wish Dilys all the best with her retirement.
