Medical Student Delivers Oral Presentation at Conference

4th Year Medical Student at the British and Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM)
Ak Md Nukman Syawqi Bin Pg Md Salimin, a 4th-year medical student, recently showcased his research at the British and Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). Held at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on September 9-10, 2024, Nukman presented his work titled “Assessing Hypertension Awareness and Health Literacy in a Tertiary Hypertension Clinic Setting.”
The BIHS ASM is renowned for selecting high-caliber abstracts for oral presentations, and Nukman’s presentation was among those highlighted this year.
This research is a crucial component of the “Empowering Patients in Managing Blood Pressure – OPTIMA-BP Study,” conducted in collaboration with Dr. Linsay McCallum, Dr. Stefanie Lip, Dr. Maggie Rostron, Dr. Rebecca Hanna, Dr. Sarah Nichol, and Professor Sandosh Padmanabhan.
