In conversation with Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak where she gives advice to junior colleagues to not give up.
Professor Jeremy Pearson has returned to Scotland for the latest in his 'In Conversation With' series, speaking to none other than Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, former BHF Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Glasgow.
Professor Jeremy Pearson and Anna together reflected on Anna's departure from her native Poland in the 1980s, challenging the gender imbalance in the UK's research community and committing unyielding energy and passion to making Glasgow and Scotland a leader in modern medicine since her arrival, being a striking role model for women in science, and refusing to slow down.
When she was asked about the people who worked with her she was quick to note with pride the progress of three of her team to be independent professors in Glasgow. One of these is Sandosh Padmanabhan, another is Christian Delles (Professor of Cardiovascular Prevention), who is particularly interested in measuring vascular function in patients with cardiovascular disease.
