Aaron is joining us having completed his Masters in Classical Reception at UCL. Aaron’s PhD project focuses on the ways in which far/alt-right political groups in the US engage with and weaponise ancient representations of Sparta.

Aaron’s interest in the modern engagement with ancient Sparta was manifested during his Masters studies, and he hopes that continuing this study in his PhD will enlighten how the Classics have been appropriated to suit the socio-political ideologies of modern hate groups in the United States.
