5055 Be she mayde, be she wyf,
5056 That quyk wole selle hir, bi hir lyf.
5057 Hou faire chere that evere she make,
5058 He is a wrecche, I undirtake,
5059 That loved such one, for swete or soure,

5061 And laugheth on hym, and makith hym feeste.

5063 To be loved is not worthy,
5064 Or bere the name of drurie.
5065 Noon shulde hir please, but he were woode,

5069 May a iewel or other thyng
5070 Take of her loves fre yevyng;

5072 ffor drede of shame of coveitise.

5074 Withoute sclaundre, yeven Ageyn,
5075 And ioyne her hertes togidre so
5076 In love, and take and yeve Also.
