4100 He shitteth every man withoute.
4101 Thus day by day daunger is wers,
4102 More wondirfull and more dyvers,
4103 And feller eke than evere he was;
4104 ffor hym full ofte I synge 'allas!'
4105 ffor I ne may nought, thurgh his ire,
4106 Recovere that I moost desire.
4107 Myne herte, allas, wole brest a twoo,
4108 ffor Bialacoil I wratthed soo.
4109 ffor certeynly, in every membre
4110 I quoke, whanne I me remembre
4111 Of the bothom, which I wolde
4112 ffull ofte a day sene and biholde.
4113 And whanne I thenke upon the kisse,
4114 And how mych Ioye and blisse
4115 I hadde thurgh the savour swete,
4116 ffor wante of it I grone and grete.
4117 Me thenkith I fele yit in my nose
4118 The swete savour of the rose.
4119 And now I woot that I mote goo
4120 So fer the fresh floures froo,
4121 To me full welcome were the deeth;
4122 Absens therof, allas, me sleeth!
