The Beta 82 Club celebrated their 42nd anniversary since graduating from the University of Glasgow at the Glasgow Central Hotel on the 5th October 2024.  This was a belated 40th Reunion delayed by Covid.

Some of us arrived on Friday 4th October and then did some sightseeing in Glasgow on Saturday morning.  The Glasgow University tour was taken by some people and others did the Central Station tour which they found very interesting.

We celebrated with an evening function at The Grand Central Hotel.  We had lanyards made from our original yearbook photographs to help us recognise each other after 42 years!

There was a delicious dinner during which there were 120 photographs shown on a screen from our student days.  Also there were two episodes of a BBC programme called Doctors Dilemmas from the Archives which had filmed our graduation and us taking the Hippocratic Oath.  It was amazing to see this film after all these years.

Following dinner we had a short thank you speech by Dr Alec Logan and a fun Raffle.

We had plenty of time to catch up with our fellow students some of whom had travelled from New Zealand,  Malaysia,  USA,  Denmark and the Netherlands.

It was a wonderful day and night as we reconnected and reminisced over the last 42 years.  We are looking forward to having another reunion in 3 years time to celebrate 45 years in 2027.
