SAAS Part-time Fee Grant funding

Am I eligible to apply for help with fees?

If you earn £25,000 or less per annum and are taking a course or courses that carrying more than 30 SCQF credits, you may be eligible for the Students Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) Part-Time Fee Grant (PTFG). Please note: PTFG funding does not cover the full fee for courses; you will be required to pay the additional amount yourself.

Please see full details on using the SAAS Part- time Fee Grant at https://www.saas.gov.uk/part-time

If you plan to use SAAS funding you have two options:

Option 1

You can apply for the Part-time Fee Grant (PTFG) via SAAS (Student Awards Agency for Scotland) before enrolling on your course/s

Please go to http://www.saas.gov.uk/part_time/ug/funding_available.htm to apply.

Once SAAS have processed your funding application, your SAAS portal will be updated to let you know it is pending University of Glasgow validation.

Please then contact the team at Lifelong Learning for instructions on how to enrol on your courses using your SAAS award.  Email lifelonglearning@glasgow.ac.uk.

Option 2

You can pay the full course fee amount upfront in order to secure your enrolment, and then apply for your SAAS Part-time Fee Grant http://www.saas.gov.uk/part_time/ug/funding_available.htm

Once SAAS have processed your funding application, your SAAS portal will be updated to let you know it is pending University of Glasgow validation.

Please then contact the team at Lifelong Learning. We will check the accuracy of your course details submitted. Should this be accurate, we will ‘validate’ your application and SAAS will confirm the final award to you. You do not need to take any action during this time.

We will refund the amount covered by your PTFG award once SAAS confirm your final award.

For both options above,  at enrolment, students must enrol on all courses/credits that they have in their application to SAAS, in line with SAAS policy.
