Geopolitics and Global economic shocks: the prospects for the world economy

Sir Anton Muscatelli, discussed how increased geopolitical tensions may impact the world economy.
He discussed how the impact Trump 2.0 has as it comes out on top of two other major global economic shocks (the pandemic and the subsequent inflation shock). He also highlighted learnings from Trump 1.0 the adaptability of world trade flows and the dangers of geoeconomic fragmentation. He finished by discussing how Trump 2.0's Tariffs and other policies may affect on a global level and the UK's economic challenges and how we could respond.
Current Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, discussed how increased geopolitical tensions in the next 2-3 years might play out in terms of the world economy.
