2018 International Conference on China Urban Development
The School of Social and Political Sciences is delighted to be hosting the 2018 International Conference on China Urban Development on 9 to 12 July. The conference will bring together researchers from urban studies, geography, sociology, political science, urban planning, urban management and public policy as well as China studies, from all over the world, to share research findings on the process of urban transformation. It will provide a platform to explore the multiple dimensions of urban development in China, and the special features of recent development and their implications for existing theories. There will also be the opportunity for young researchers to share their experiences on studying and researching Chinese cities.
The conference will focus on topics such as Urbanisation (planned and spontaneous development) and spatial expansion of cities, Migration and migrants, Urban regeneration, and Urban big data implication and new research methodologies. Currently, there are three confirmed keynote speakers for the events: Professor Chaolin Gu, Tsinghua University, China, Professor John Logan, Brown University, USA, and Professor Fulong Wu, University College London.
