Drs Hao Gao and David MacTaggart attendeda meeting at the University of St Andrews in early January on the future of high performance computing (HPC) in Scotland, where David gave an invited talk.

Dr Kitty Meeks visited the University of Bergen for one week at the beginning of January where she gave a seminar talk entitled "When can an FPT decision algorithm be used to count?"

On 20th January, Kitty also gave an invited talk at the Open University Winter Combinatorics Meeting entitled "The complexity of finding and counting small subgraphs".

Dr Antony Overstall had a research visit to Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia to work with Drs James McGree and Chris Drovandi. Antony gave invited talks at the following four conferences:

  1. Bayes on the Beach, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast City, Australia
  2. Bayesian Optimal Design of Experiments Workshop, QUT, Brisbane, Australia
  3. Design Experiments: Recent Advances in Methods and Applications Conference, University of Technology Sydney, Sydney, Australia.
  4. International Association for Statistical Computing Asian Region Conference, National University Singapore, Singapore

Dr Peter Stewart was invited to give a seminar at UCL on Monday 1st December 2015. Peter talked about "Microscale efffects in foam fracture".
