History at Glasgow
Glasgow History is a thriving community of nearly 30 leading scholars and 55 PhD students, plus nearly 30 more each year undertaking master's degrees. The staff include clusters in war studies, gender history, Scottish history, American history, battlefield archaeology, cultural history, and religious and atheist history. There are strong specialisms in medieval, early-modern and twentieth century periods. - AHRC Doctoral Studentships 2015-16: we invite inquiries from well-qualified UK and EU students for applications to the Arts and Humanities Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership Scotland, in which Glasgow is a member. Full details here.
- College of Arts PhD Intern Scholarships 2015-16: these scholarships are open to International, EU and UK students. See the University of Glasgow College of Arts webpage.
- Carnegie Scholarships: Scottish-connected students may be nominated for a PhD at Glasgow. See the website for Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland.
- ESRC Doctoral Studentships: History nominate to the scheme of the Economic and Social Research Council for topics in this field of historical research. The deadlines have yet to be announced.
