HEHTA Co-Director Olivia Wu appointed as Director of Two NIHR Research Programmes

Professor Olivia Wu will lead the new Better Methods for Better Research (BMBR) programme as well as the existing National Research Colloaboration Programme (NRCP)
Our Co-Director Professor Olivia Wu has been appointed Director of two National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) programmes. Olivia will serve as the Inaugural Director of Better Methods for Better Research (BMBR) and take over as Director of the existing National Research Collaboration Programme (NRCP). She will be stepping down from her current role as Chair of NIHR HTA Clinical Evaluations & Trials Funding Committee.
In addition to her new directorships, Olivia will act as a strategic advisor, leading the implementation of innovative methodologies across the NIHR. She will draw on her expertise in a broad range of health technology assessment (HTA) methodologies to guide effective research and investment strategies aimed at enhancing public welfare and quality of life.
Olivia said: "I’m really excited to take up these NIHR Programme Director roles. The development and implementation of innovative methodologies are vital to addressing complex biomedical, health, and care challenges. I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the NIHR and our collaborating partners to ensure we invest in the most efficient approaches for delivering impactful research that improves the health and well-being of the nation.”
