IHW is delighted to be offering introductory BSL training to interested staff and students
As part of our Athena SWAN/equality, diversity and inclusion activities, IHW is delighted to be offering an introductory BSL training course free of charge to interested staff and students.
Taking place over six consecutive Tuesdays (12.30 to 1.30) in August/September 2019 at 1 Lilybank Gardens, the course will be led by Debbie Scanlon of Deaf Connections, a leading voluntary organisation delivering specialist services to the deaf community across Scotland.
Content will include:
- Fingerspelling
- Numbers
- Friends and family
- Weather and travel
- Food and drink
Although this course is currently fully booked (as of 26 June 2019), we have a waiting list you can join. (Almost always, places on courses/at events tend to become available nearer the time. If there is sufficient interest, we may also consider running a repeat course, so it's helpful for us to know the level of demand within IHW.)
