27 April 2022 - We'll be contributing with two events to the Pint of Science 2022 in Glasgow
The Space and Exploration Technology group will be contributing to the Pint of Science series of event in Glasgow. This world-renowned science festival has researchers presenting their work in an accessible and interactive format, covering topics as far-reaching as the cosmos, to the human mind, to where our society is heading!
Our Prof Colin McInnes and Dr Onur Celic will be giving talks as part of the event Out of this World: Sustainability and Solar Wind:

Sustainability for the Deep Future
Through an understanding of the laws of nature through Science, and their application through Engineering, our technologies now use energy to process matter often on vast scales. This talk will project human technologies into the deep future and imagine their impact on both humans and planet Earth itself.
The Real Daylight Savings

The Sun is virtually an endless source of energy. But we can only use it for energy generation during the daylight hours. What if we had a reflector in orbit to supply additional sunlight locally to solar power plants, to extend those hours?
