Howe Prize in Engineering for GC-UESTC 2+2 Student Yujie Wang
Yujie Wang was awarded the prestigious Howe Prize in Electrical Engineering (for Excellence in Lecture and Laboratory Coursework) this year. The award was presented by Professor Scott Roy, Learning and Teaching Convenor, after graduations. Yujie studied on the 2+2 program, where students come to Glasgow to complete the last 2 years of a joint 4 year undergraduate degree, awarded by both the University of Glasgow and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Graduating with Honours of the First Class in BEng Electronics and Electrical Engineering with Information Engineering, Yujie had the highest grades in the EEE BEng cohorts at UoG, a wonderful accomplishment.
The 2+2 (and 3+1) programme allows Glasgow College UESTC students to travel overseas from China to join Glasgow’s School of Engineering for years 3 and 4, immersing themselves in Scottish culture and gaining a truly unique academic experience of being taught in two different countries.
