CMD Symposium

On Wednesday 19th April, Professor Colin Berry and Dr Dan Ang co-lead the Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction Symposium at the Kings Fund in London. The event was focused on angina and cardiac small vessel disease. Ischaemic heart disease is the second leading cause of death in women and leading cause of death in men.

Dan is a PhD Fellow working in the University’s International Trials of Microvascular Angina (iCorMicA), funded by Abbott Vascular and co-sponsored by the University of Glasgow and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board. Twenty eight hospitals across the UK and Ireland are supporting the study and we are hoping to open sites in The Netherlands and Germany soon.

The conference was about bringing different professional groups together and you will see there are presentations from doctors, nurses and rehabilitation experts. The conference was developed for Interventional Cardiologists and hospital staff interested in advancing their clinical practice for patients with CMD.
