The BHF Scotland’s inaugural Desmond Julian Annual Research Lecture is on Thursday 5th October at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh with a 6.30pm start.
We are proud of the cardiovascular research environment in Scotland, the impact it has had and the ambition it holds for the future. BHF Scotland is delighted to launch a new flagship event named in honour of Prof Desmond Julian, a pioneer in cardiology, who founded the first ever coronary care unit in Europe at Edinburgh Royal in 1963 and went on to be a BHF Professor before becoming Medical Director of the BHF in 1987.
The annual lecture will celebrate the best of Scottish and Global cardiovascular research and we are delighted that Prof Dame Anna Dominiczak, former BHF Professor and Trustee, and Chief Scientist for Scotland, will deliver the first lecture.
