The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) has launched (2 of July) a call for a new type of Postdoctoral Positions (up to 3 years), termed “María Zambrano”, in order to attract talented postdoctoral fellows to our school to join an established lab in our University.

Eligible candidates may be of any nationality (including Spain) and must have completed at least 24 months of postdoctoral training in institutions different from the one where they obtained their PhD plus currently be working in research centers outside Spain.

We are looking for talented and motivated candidates in order to apply for one such contract to work as a postdoctoral fellow in our group.

Our laboratories are investigating key nodes in signalling networks involved in prevalent pathologies such as metabolic/cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The GRK2 kinase and the Gαq subunit of heterotrimeric G proteins are emerging as central, inter-related signalling hubs in these contexts, and we are investigating their role in homeostasis and disease by using cellular and animal models with altered expression of these proteins (including hemizygous, conditional, and tissue-specific GRK2- or Gαq-deficient animals), as well as samples from patients or animal models of disease.

We would be grateful if you could bring this announcement to the attention of potential candidates in your school and network, or directly to any possible candidates you might know.

Interested candidates should contact Catalina Ribas (cribas@cbm.csic.es), Federico Mayor (fmayor@cbm.csic.es)for further information before July 12th.
