Abstract

India has been implementing a sophisticated affirmative action program in recruiting for government jobs and allocating seats at publicly funded educational institutions.

Bio

Dr Bertan Turhan is an assistant professor in the economics department at Iowa State University. He received his PhD from Boston College in 2015. His research agenda focuses on the theory and applications of market design. His most recent research focuses on analyzing and designing affirmative action policies to allocate scarce resources. He taught at ITAM (Mexico), Carnegie Mellon University, and Iowa State University.
