To recognise our students’ individual commitment to extracurricular activities and personal achievements the School has introduced a leading edge programme of skills – the Undergraduate Award.
It will ensure Adam Smith Business School graduates are equipped with the best skills to help them enter and succeed in the workplace.
Linked to the School’s aim to develop enlightened, engaged and enterprising graduates, it continues the legacy of Adam Smith, who is recognised worldwide as one of the most influential figures to emerge from the Scottish Enlightenment.
The award will provide students with the skillset and knowledge to enhance their student experience and grow in the areas of careers and employability and personal development, whilst making new friends, networking with alumni and gaining exposure to real life business situations.
From 2nd year onwards, Business School students can earn points by participating in activities and reflecting on their experiences to successfully complete the Undergraduate Award.
Laura Perez Castro, 3rd year Business Management, Single Honours student said “I have been involved in societies and extra-curricular activities since I started university, and this award programme gives me a great opportunity to reflect on my experience as well as getting recognition for my engagement. I’m looking forward to exploring more of the activities available on the Undergraduate Award.”
Professor John Finch, Head of the Adam Smith Business School, said: “Our students graduate from the Adam Smith Business School with more than a world-class education. Through our unique Undergraduate Award we offer them the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities to enhance their experience and gain employability skills alongside their degree programme.
“This will give them a competitive edge in the job market and enable them to develop a skillset that stands out to potential employers. I encourage all undergraduate students to make the most of this opportunity.”
