Why did you choose the Adam Smith Business School?
In 1985 it was the University of Glasgow Business School. At that time, it had a great reputation and some of the most talented Lecturers.
What did you enjoy the most about your programme? How has your degree helped you in your career?
I loved Marketing and our Lecturer was Francis Quinlan who was famous for organising great MBA parties. One party was a white tuxedo event in the Kibble Palace. The MBA was fundamental in my consultancy career where I worked with Mott McDonald Group as a Principal Consultant and also held other global lead jobs in consultancy and renewable projects on and offshore.
What have you been up to since graduating from the Business School?
Mainly raising my big family and various businesses. I have also been involved in Politics where I was Election Coordinator and Agent for the Hon Jim Murphy (ex-Secretary of State for Scotland) and Ken MacIntosh (ex-Presiding Officer for the Scottish Parliament) My daughter the actress Jenni Keenan Green ran for Rector in the 90s.
What was the most important thing you learnt while studying at Glasgow?
Resilience and never give up.
What is your top piece of advice for current students – our future alumni?
Keep going and find what you love doing and develop a great network. Remember learning is forever so keep up to date.
