World Changers RUK Excellence Scholarship
The RUK Excellence Scholarship recognises and rewards outstanding academic achievement. This cash award is available to undergraduate students who achieve A*AA at A Level in one sitting, demonstrating exceptional dedication and academic excellence.

The scholarship is only available to students who achieve A*AA at A Level in a single sitting and equivalent UCAS Tariff points cannot be used in place of the required A Level grades. Students entering on Faster Route programmes must achieve A*A*A at A Level to be eligible. Applicants to Nursing, Product Design, Dentistry, Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine programmes are not eligible for this scholarship.

This is scholarship is paid through a cash stipend split into two payments throughout the academic year.
How to apply
There is no application for the RUK Excellence Scholarship; information from UCAS will be used to assess eligibility.
Should you be awarded the RUK Excellence Scholarship, you will be informed in the October of your entry year. We thank you for your patience.
September 2027/2028 entrants or later entry
If you are planning to joining the University in the 2027-28 academic year, you’ll receive £3,000 in your first year of study as part of our RUK Excellence Scholarship, helping support you through your first year and celebrate your A-level grade achievement.
There is no separate application process for the RUK Excellence Scholarship. Eligible students are identified automatically using the qualifications and grades provided through UCAS.
To be considered for the scholarship, students must achieve A*AA at A Level (please note that equivalent UCAS points/other qualifications are not eligible for the scholarship).
Eligible students will be contacted directly by the Scholarships Team, normally in late September or early October, to confirm their award. Students who believe they meet the eligibility criteria but have not been contacted by the November of their first year should contact the Scholarships Team so that their eligibility can be reviewed.
Scholarship payments are made in two instalments, on the last Friday of October and the last Friday of January. Students who receive their award letter in early October will normally receive their first payment in October. Where eligibility is confirmed later and an award letter is issued in November, the first payment will be made in November.
To receive the scholarship, students must complete both their academic and financial registration on MyCampus by the relevant registration deadline. Scholarship awards cannot be deferred to a future academic year.
The University reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the scholarship if a student no longer meets the eligibility criteria, has provided incorrect information, or where funding

The Scholarships Team will contact eligible students directly, usually in late September or early October, to confirm their award. If you believe you meet the eligibility criteria and have not been contacted by November 2026, please get in touch and we will review your eligibility.
The scholarship is paid in two instalments each academic year, on the last Friday of October and the last Friday of January. Where eligibility is confirmed later and an award letter is issued in November, the first payment will normally be made on the last Friday in November, with any missed payments from earlier in the academic year included as a backdated payment.
The RUK Excellence Scholarship is intended to support students throughout their studies and will normally be renewed automatically each year. To remain eligible, students must complete their academic and financial registration on MyCampus by the relevant deadline, continue to meet the scholarship criteria, and successfully progress to the next year of their programme. Scholarship awards cannot be deferred to a future academic year.
Students undertaking an approved study abroad period may continue to receive the scholarship, provided all other eligibility requirements continue to be met. The scholarship will also continue to be paid during a designated free year, subject to ongoing eligibility.
Students who repeat a year of study or undertake an exam-only year will not normally receive the scholarship during that period. However, where repeat study or an exam-only year arises as a result of approved extenuating circumstances, eligibility may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
The University reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw the scholarship where a student no longer meets the eligibility requirements, has provided incorrect information, or where funding arrangements change.
