Selassi’s research will examine the effect of socio-economic background on inequality in the UK labour market by looking at the social, economic and cultural determinants of social mobility.
Selassi's PhD will draw out insights on this topic from the financial services sector in Scotland. Selassi has spent her career in the asset management industry, in data governance and operational project roles. After undertaking further study at the University of Cambridge's Institute for Sustainability Leadership, she has spent the last year of her career working in the field of social investment, helping purpose-driven organisations with their environmental, social and corporate governance impact assessments.
