Jacob is looking at Selective Inhibition and Therapeutic Intervention against Malaria through design, synthesis and evaluation of Novel Small Molecules.
Jacob’s PhD research with The School of Chemistry focuses on improving the selectivity of anti- malarial kinase inhibitor drugs, to target the malaria kinases instead of human kinases.
He has an MChem degree in Biological and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of York, where he completed a project on expanding knowledge of the Protein Kinases of Leishmania Mexicana, one of the causative species of the disease Leishmaniasis.
