Gracie read Philosophy & French at Trinity College, Oxford, before completing her MSc in Human Rights at LSE. Her thesis focused on the impact of controversial judgments by The European Court of Human Rights on utopian conceptions of international law.

She has since spent a decade leading imaginative strategy and campaigns in civil liberties, tech, and social justice, as well as co-authoring Against Borders (Verso Books, 2022).

As a JMS Scholar, Gracie intends to work on a novel, and a critical work on Black feminist freedom philosophies and their interaction with the existentialist school.
