Joint Conference 2018

SECURE Joined two other EPSRC Networks, PEN and ReCoVer for a joint conference at Leeds University on the 11th and 12th January, 2018. The conference showcased the activities of the three networks

SECURE Annual Conference Report

SECURE held its third and final Annual conference at the TEACHER building in Glasgow on the 19th September, attended by 50 people from around the UK and from universities and agencies. The meeting commenced with Professor Marian Scott, the SECURE PI giving an update on the progress of the network and what it had achieved including a description of the SECURE Feasibility project portfolio (now at 16 projects in total).

SECURE Grand Challenge Event

SECURE award funding to a further five feasibility projects

SECURE have awarded funding to a further five feasibility projects following its second project feasibility call. This second group of projects is now underway and the progress of individual projects can be followed by either selecting the left hand navigation or via the carousel on the homepage.

SECURE Network Funding Opportunities

There are a number of different ways the SECURE network can support members ranging from training to international conferences. A major part of the network will be the funding of four/five feasibility projects per anum up to a maximum value of £25K each per project. SECURE has now funded ten feasibility projects. SECURE opened its Conference funding in December 2015; use the left hand navigation of the homepage for full details.

Management Group formed

We are pleased to announce the formation of the SECURE Management Group. It will oversee all aspects of the SECURE network. With the network comprising of academics, environmental agencies, research institutes and international partners the composition of the management group reflects this involvement. The group held its first meeting on the 14th May. Subsequent meetings were held on the 12th August, 2015, 15th January, 2016, 11th May, 2016 and the 16th December 2016.

SECURE Launch event held on the 11th September

On the 11th September 2015 SECURE held its Launch Event. This was chaired by Professor Marian Scott, the Principal Investigator for the network. They day comprised of talks from Professor Jonathan Tawn and Dr Jon Blower in the morning. Delegates had a choice of workshops in both the morning and afternoon. The keynote lecture was given by Professor Ian Boyd, CSA of DFRA. Professor Susan Waldron delivered sessions on Feasibility projects. Around fifty delegates attended.
