Bidh Mgr MacDhòmhnaill a’ bruidhinn mu Iain Mac a’ Ghobhainn agus na sgeulachdan goirid aige. Tha Mgr MacDhòmhnaill, a bha iomadh bliadhna na Stiùiriche air Comhairle nan Leabhraichean, air aon dhen luchd-deasachaidh (còmhla ris an Oll. Moray Watson) air cruinneachadh de sgeulachdan gòirid Gàidhlig Iain Mhic a’ Ghobhainn a tha air ùr-fhoillseachadh le Comann Litreachas Gàidhlig na h-Alba. Bidh Mgr MacDhòmhnaill cuideachd ann an còmhradh ri Alison Lang, a tha a-nis na Stiùiriche air Comhairle nan Leabhraichean. Tha an òraid agus an còmhradh seo, ann an Gàidhlig, gan cumail an co-bhann eadar Comann Gàidhlig Ghlaschu agus Ionad Eòlas na h-Alba is na Ceiltis aig Oilthigh Ghlaschu.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Mr MacDonald will be speaking about the renowned Gaelic writer Iain Mac a’ Ghobhainn (known in English as Iain Crichton Smith). Mr MacDonald, a former Director of the Gaelic Books Council, is one of the editors (along with Prof. Moray Watson) of a new collection of Iain Mac a’ Ghobhainn’s Gaelic short stories recently published by the Scottish Gaelic Texts Society. He will give a short talk and then be in conversation with Alison Lang, the current Director of the Gaelic Books Council. This event, a short lecture and the conversation, will be in Gaelic. Simultaneous translation into English will be available for up to forty guests. This event is hosted by the Centre of Scottish and Celtic Studies at the University of Glasgow in conjunction wirh Comann Gàidhlig Ghlaschu (the Gaelic Society of Glasgow).
