The 3rd Annual Nawruz-Noorus Postgraduate Workshop on Central Asia will be held at the Research Beehive at Newcastle University.

The workshop, sponsored by CRCEES, is run in partnership by the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology and the School of Modern Languages in the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Newcastle University.
The Keynote Lecture, 'The Global Performance State: A Reconsideration of the Central Asian ‘weak state’' will be followed by a Q&A session with Dr John Heathershaw from the University of Exeter. Lectures on a wide variety of topics will also be delivered by notable speakers from across Europe, e.g. Tuebingen University (Germany), The Institute of International Relations (Czech Republic), Leiden University (Netherlands), University of Leeds (UK) and Uppsala University (Sweden).
