The Orthominder or Vibratory BioFeedback Orthosis (VBO) is an invention enabled through collaboration between the Bioelectronics Unit, the College of MVLS (former Faculty of Biomedical & Life Sciences) and the National Center for Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. The device uses vibration to remind the user to perform contraction/relaxation manoeuvres and provides feedback on the accuracy of the exercise.

UnInterrupted Variable Pulse Generator (unVPG)

A small, inexpensive battery powered unit uses a microprocessor to allow users to control the pulse frequency and to change quickly and easily between different pulse frequency. The unit provides a second output with a delay that can be determined by the operator. Suitable for physiological and neuroscience applications.

Optical mapping experiments use a dual camera setup (Redshirt and Dalsa camera) to capture changes in electrical and movement activity of rabbit hearts. During these experiments it is vital that the two cameras run synchronously, but are capturing images at two different temporal rates. This system uses an ucontroller with embedded software to change the number of input pulses counted before an output pulse is initiated.
