Short Description
This course will focus on the communication and dissemination of clinical trial outcomes. Students will learn about the final reporting of clinical trial results. Additionally, they will learn how best to communicate trial evidence to ensure that the target stakeholder understands clinical trial outcomes.

Assessment
Assessment will consist of:
- Individual written assignment (50%, 1500-2000 words) [ILO1, ILO2, ILO4].
- Group project output (20 minutes, 50%) (25% of grade will be based on individual performance and 25% of grade will be based on group performance) [ILO1, ILO2, ILO3].
Course Aims
The specific aims of this taught course are:
- To provide students with knowledge of how to evaluate clinical trial results and draw appropriate conclusions.
- To allow students to develop effective oral and written communication skills suitable to convey complex clinical trial results to different stakeholders.
- To facilitate writing skills required for clinical trial final reporting.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
- Critically analyse and interpret results of a completed clinical trial.
- Effectively synthesise data for reporting and dissemination.
- Apply appropriate and clear dissemination strategies to communicate findings effectively to different stakeholders.
- Critically evaluate the evidence base of trial findings and communicate a comprehensive overview to stakeholders.
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course’s summative assessment.
