Testimonial from 2022 CLMC student Olha
Completing my Masters degree in Children’s Literature, Media, and Culture has been a highlight of the past two years! I had come to this programme without any special expectations, as my Bachelor’s degree in English Philology had little to do with literature for children and adolescents. Therefore, this programme became a welcoming portal into an interdisciplinary space with so many directions to explore.
Not only did I learn about children’s literature from my international groupmates and professors, but I also rediscovered my old-forgotten childhood, as well as modern tendencies in the current Ukrainian book market. The amount of support, input, and knowledge that I received from professors, teachers, and other members of the CLMC team is invaluable.
Moreover, the program provided me with different outlets for reaching out to other specialists in the field, as well as networking among peers and previous cohorts. All the skills and expertise that I gained during the studies allow me to be an expert at working with children and teenagers at the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where I work on different educational projects targeted toward teaching the English language to children and teenagers, promoting critical thinking and developing public speaking skills.
I am so grateful to be a part of the CLMC family!
