Testimonial from 2022 CLMC student Cecilie
Studying CLMC has been the most fun adventure I have ever embarked on. My favourite thing has been and will always be the people: students, staff and other people I met along the CLMC journey. Through CLMC I have made friendships and connections that I will treasure forever.
I loved being part of a community that shared stories from their own background, and granted me access to those stories by offering a translation and cultural context, which I otherwise would never have been able to access. I have also been introduced to new food, and I have learned to cook things I never had tried before this. CLMC has been a wonderful way to broaden your view as you will be introduced to new cultures, customs, literatures and perspectives.
Besides making friends through the programme, my internship (through Tilburg University) introduced me to the loveliest coworkers I could have ever hoped for. After my internship ended I stayed, and I became really good friends with the people at Paper Moon Books. I became part of the family, which I would not have been able to become without the CLMC internship.
Now that I'm back home I have to admit that I do not miss having to live out of a suitcase, but I really do miss the people and the places I was so fortunate to live in and study at. Even though I'm done moving for a while, I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could.
While I am still looking for my next adventure, getting to add CLMC to my CV has been exciting and it has definitely been something that sets me apart from the crowd. As of now I have no idea where I will end up, but the future is looking bright!
