Student Experience: Student Club and Society Support
Published: 10 October 2024
Are you part of a student club or society? Improvements are being rolled out to address some of the issues that you've been telling us about!
A range of improved support is being rolled out for student clubs and societies, addressing some of the issues you have been telling us about.
Working with the four student organisations (Student Representative Council, Queen Margaret Union, GU Sport Association and GU Union), plus Campus Timetabling, IS and Digital Experience Team, we have made improvements to the way you can enquire about space for club/society events and activities across all available buildings and spaces, including university rooms.
They are all now listed in a single enquiry form on the UofG Helpdesk with details on room capacity, times, and use type, making it easier to enquire and find the space you need. No more hunting and visiting multiple websites, webpages, forms, and email addresses. If you’re a student, you can access the form here, or search for Clubs & Societies - Room/Space Enquiry Form on the UofG Helpdesk.
Other developments include a new Lending Library for clubs and societies to borrow equipment for events and activities, helping to save money, plus improved storage options for the stuff you do own. The Club & Society Team in the SRC are your first point contact for both.
Lastly, GUSA Sport Clubs now have a new online portal to help manage events, post latest news, guidance, and support.
These things are just the start and you can let us know what else we need to improve via our Have Your Say webpage.
