I have applied for the Glasgow Crucible as part of my early career development plan.

I enjoyed excellent networking opportunities during the event meetings, combined with well-organised and informative academic workshops. As it was in my first year at the university, I have learned a lot from the grant strategy workshops, as well as from opportunities to communicate with senior staff members such as Vice Principal for Research and others.

These events were very useful for my forthcoming grant applications and further career planning. I would certainly recommend the Crucible event for other ECRs as not just an excellent networking venue, but also a place to build up and strengthen your grant application skills.
