The University has been made aware of a number of scams, particularly targeted at Chinese students.

What happens?
- Scammers contact students claiming to represent the police or other official body from student’s home country.
- They tell students they are suspected of a money laundering crime.
- They ask for money and tell not to alert the British police.
What should I do if I’m affected?
Contact the police in the first instance. Call 101 or report to the police station. The nearest police station is at Partick - 609-611 Dumbarton Rd, Glasgow G11 6HY.
If you need support in reporting the crime, get in touch with Campus Security on +44 (0) 141 330 4444 (ext. 4444) and one of our Security Officers will go along with you to the police station.
