The University of Glasgow is working in partnership with Rape Crisis Scotland as part of the Ending Sexual Harassment in Third Level Education (ESHTE) project, which launches on Wednesday 5 April.

ESHTE is funded by the European Union and aims to build a culture of zero tolerance of sexual harassment and violence in third level institutions by raising awareness through active campaigning and developing training and policy resources for students and staff.

The project is led by The National Women’s Council of Ireland. Other partners include:

  • Glasgow Caledonian University
  • The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies in Cyprus
  • The Women’s Issues Information Centre in Lithuania
  • The Women’s Equality Commissioner, Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich in Germany

It Stops Now

Through the It Stops Now campaign, project partners will work to prevent and combat sexual violence and harassment, linking in with work underway across the universities sector to:

  • Develop a strong policy framework
  • Drive clear reporting and disclosure mechanisms
  • Resource strong support services
  • Ensure long-term, sustainable interventions

Work underway at UofG includes the student-led Let's Talk About Sexual Violence workshops and a recent workshop for staff inspired by the UUK Taskforce report, both developed in collaboration with Rape Crisis Scotland, and the ongoing strategic work of the University's Gender Based Violence Strategy Group.
