The University is assisting students to highlight support and advice available
The University has launched a new guide for students to help with challenges around the rising cost of living, and is offering enhanced support services to help address the city-wide accommodation shortage.
The Cost of Living Support Guide has been produced together with the SRC to offer practical advice and support. It consolidates the various sources of advice, information and services, such as financial assistance, wellbeing support, advice for managing bills and avoiding debt.
Accommodation
Please note that we are also supporting students with the issues they are facing around securing accommodation in Glasgow, given the city-wise accommodation shortage.
Students who require emergency accommodation can call 0141 330 7157 between the hours of 09:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday, so we can provide support and immediate help.
We have been in touch with all our students last week to highlight the options for anyone affected. Guidance is also available from the Students' Representative Council (SRC) Advice Centre at advice@src.gla.ac.uk, 11:30 – 16:00, Monday to Friday.
We have also increased our hardship funds for both home and international students who need access to them.
Our priority is the safety, health and wellbeing of our student community. We are actively exploring other ways that we can support at this time, including securing more accommodation and assisting with the rising cost of living.
