‌Over the past 12 months more than twenty thousand students across the UK have cast their opinions for the next WhatUni Student Rankings. The results have been tallied and Whatuni can now reveal the 2015 Student Choice Awards shortlist.

The University of Glasgow has been shortlisted in 5 categories:

  • University of the Year
  • City Life
  • Student Union
  • Clubs & Societies
  • International

The Whatuni Student Rankings are based on averages taken from thousands of reviews submitted by students and cover nine categories.

This year 20,000 reviews were counted; 111 universities met the minimum threshold to be considered for a Student Choice Award; and 39 universities received a nomination.

The official 2015 Whatuni Student Rankings will be announced on the 23rd of April at a ceremony in London.  Follow all the action on the night with the hashtag #WUSCA.

Ann Wilber, Recruitment and Marketing Manager at the University of Glasgow, said: “The University of Glasgow is extremely pleased to be shortlisted for the Whatuni Student Choice Awards – the fact that we are up for five awards is a wonderful reflection of how our students feel about the University.

“ We take great pride in the knowledge that our students have voted for the University in this way and we will continue to ensure our students have a world class experience with us.”

Simon Emmett, Managing Director Whatuni.com, added: “The importance of student opinion cannot be underestimated at a time of so much uncertainty in the sector. With a General Election approaching, students have legitimate concerns about the cost and value of higher education. This has been evident not just from the increase in reviews published on our site this year, but also in the feedback we get from speaking with students as part of our outreach program.

"For prospective students, being able to hear first-hand about the quality of education and realistic expectations for life at uni is an invaluable resource when making a decision to pursue degree-level studies.  Our hope is that the student university rankings contribute to the research and preparation required for each student to choose the right uni for them.”
