New University Librarian named

Susan Ashworth has been appointed as the University's new Librarian. She will succeed Helen Durndell next month.
Susan Ashworth has been appointed as the University's new Librarian. She will succeed Helen Durndell with effect from next month. Susan is currently Depute Librarian.
The news was announced by Secretary of Court, David Newall, who said: "Susan was selected from among a strong field of candidates and she will succeed Helen Durndell with effect from 1 August.
Susan has excelled in her current role and will be a first-class University Librarian. I am sure she will work effectively with all her colleagues in making sure that the Library continues to provide an excellent and innovative service to students and staff."
In February, the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Europe and External Affairs Fiona Hyslop, announced that Helen Durndell was joining the Board of the National Library of Scotland which is regarded as one of the world’s leading research libraries and one of Scotland’s premier cultural institutions.
