The University has appointed Peter Aitchison as Media Relations Manager
The University has appointed Peter Aitchison as Media Relations Manager. Mr Aitchison, who will take up the appointment on June 6, has spent the last four years working as a Senior Director with the Glasgow-based public relations agency McGarvie Morrison Media, specialising in the Higher Education sector, and in devising and delivering media training to clients across the public and private sectors.
Prior to this, Mr Aitchison was an award-winning programme editor with the BBC. In a career spanning two decades he was in charge of most of the main news programmes in Scotland, including Good Morning Scotland, Newsnight Scotland, output producer on Reporting Scotland and Scotland editor for BBC Radio Five Live.
Mr Aitchison said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Corporate Communications team at the University of Glasgow. I am thrilled to be joining the team and look forward to playing my part in promoting the excellence of the University of Glasgow in teaching, research and in providing a superb student experience.”
