5581   ffor richesse stonte in suffisaunce
5582   And no thyng in habundaunce;
5583   ffor suffisaunce all oonly
5584   Makith men to lyve richely.
5585   Lor he that hath mycches tweyne,
5586   Ne value in his demeigne,
5587   Lyveth more at ese, and more is riche,
5588   Than doth he that is chiche,
5589   And in his berne hath, soth to seyn,
5590   An hundred mavis of whete greyne,
5591   Though he be chapman or marchaunte,
5592   And have of golde many besaunte.

5594   And in the kepyng drede Also,
5595   And sette evermore his bisynesse
