Reporting GenAI use in assessment
Ask student to keep a log of GenAI use that they submit with their assessment. Scaffold for them how to keep the log. For instance, in level 1 a very detailed structured document that students append to their assessment.
In later years a reflective paragraph with prompts (students can choose which prompts to include):
- Did you check the assessment brief for how to use GenAI in this assessment and how did you follow the advice?
- What GenAI tools did you use and for what tasks did you use them?
- What prompt(s) did you use for generative GenAI tools and how did you use the output?
- Which section(s) contain the results of GenAI tools and/or which ideas were generated from GenAI tools in the research/writing process? How did you acknowledge use of GenAI in your text?
Please share any further thoughts that you have about use of GenAI in writing or elsewhere.
