Hidden Figures screening for International Women's Day 2018

In celebration of International Women’s Day 2018 the University of Glasgow, working with Glasgow Life, and the Hunterian Museum presented a film screening of the award-winning film Hidden Figures followed by a panel discussion.
Hidden Figures is the incredible untold true story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit.
The screening was followed by a panel discussion and networking around issues that still surround ‘Women as Hidden Figures in STEM, Arts and Culture, and Beyond’.
