The Political Economy Futures Forum, a College of Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Research initiative, is setting the agenda for world-changing research at the intersection of politics, society, and the economy.
At our inaugural symposium on Friday, 16 May, we will showcase a year of interdisciplinary political economy work at the University of Glasgow through the wider theme of inequalities and just transition. Two keynote speakers will bookend the event: Judith Clifton from the University of Cantabria will talk about public financial institutions and their role in green and just climate transition, and Guy Arnold from Great British Energy will talk about the challenges of bringing the energy industry under public ownership. Finally, the symposium will provide an opportunity to shape the agenda for future interdisciplinary research and collaborations with engaged colleagues across the university.
