At Glasgow, you are assured of a warm welcome when you join our vibrant and diverse student community of over 1300 students.

The current Head of Subject is Professor Adrian Streete. Undergraduate and postgraduate students are encouraged to attend events and talks through the academic year. The English Society is run by students for students and, in addition to running events during the year, is involved in organising our annual Hootenanny and Graduation party.

At Postgraduate level, we run several Masters (MLitt) programmes. Students can undertake the popular General programme in English Literature, selecting courses from our pathways, or else our dedicated programmes including those in Fantasy, Modernities, and American Literature.
