Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showman & Boater students
As part of our commitment to Widening Participation at the University of Glasgow, we are looking to understand ways in which applicants and students from Gypsy, Roma, Showman, Traveller and Boater communities can be supported in their journey to and through Higher Education. And to ensure that the University remains an open, inclusive, and welcoming environment to our students and staff from these backgrounds.
We are currently making sure that we have all the required elements in place to sign the GTRSB Pledge into Higher Education. We are forming a working group to ensure that we meet the requirements of the Pledge and support our staff, students, and applicants. We acknowledge that while there is only one Pledge, it encompasses distinct communities with their own cultures, identities, and challenges.
We are eager to hear from members of all communities about their experiences of accessing and participating in Higher Education so that the best support can be provided. We are currently gathering feedback and we would appreciate hearing from anyone who is from a GTRSB background:
Feedback through our anonymous GTRSB survey
