Summary

This course offers an overview of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  

On this course you will learn about the subtypes of ADHD as well as gender differences in presentation. You will also have the opportunity to explore current theories that address some of the key ADHD behaviours and how well they apply to clinical and educational interventions. The course will also explore possible causes of ADHD and investigate past and current understandings. 

Who is this course for?

Anyone interested in learning more about ADHD. The course might be of particular interest to individuals with an ADHD diagnosis, their families or professionals working with people with ADHD. 

Qualifications/credits

5 credits (SCQF Level 7) 

Can contribute towards a CertHE in Psychology  

Assessment

For students opting in to assessment, the course will be assessed on the creation of a scientific or public-information poster.

This 5-week course will be delivered via 2-hour seminars led by a tutor.
